Grammy Award Winning THE TRAMMPS, Friday at 6:30 PM & 9:30 PM

The Trammps began in Philadelphia in 1972 featuring vocalist, Jimmy Ellis, Harold ‘Doc’ Wade, Stanley Wade and Earl Young and traveled with as many as 11 members, culled from the ranks of the busiest and best musicians, many of whom also played for Gamble and Huff’s Philly International and later for Vince Montana’s Salsoul Orchestra. The Trammps first recording, “Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart”, a remake of a tune originally recorded by Judy Garland in 1943, was recorded at the legendary Sigma Sound Studio’s in 1972 and was a bona fide chart hit!

Within the next few years, Buddah Records recorded several of The Trammps hits, including “Hold Back The Night” and “Where Do We Go From Here” in 1974.

In mid-1975, The Trammps became one of Atlantic Records hottest Disco recording Acts. Their first Album with Atlantic yielded tracts “Hooked For Life” and “Where The Happy People Go” which became their biggest Pop hit to date and continues to rank as one of the most recognizable songs of its era! Other Trammps’ hits on Atlantic included “Disco Party”, “Body Contact”, “I feel Like I’ve Been Livin’ (On the Dark Side Of The Moon)”, “The Night The Lights Went out” and “Soul Bones” which featured a harmonica solo by Stevie Wonder. The Pinnacle of The Trammps career was their Atlantic sound track, “Disco Inferno”. In 1977 “Disco Inferno” was the hottest song on the international Disco scene and the Group was recognized as the best performing group by one of New York’s most popular Club’s, 2001 Space Odyssey, the location for the motion picture, Saturday Night Fever. The Sound track for the movie, which naturally included “Disco Inferno”, was the industry’s biggest selling album to date and won The Trammps a Grammy Award in 1979.

Throughout the years, The Trammps have made many tours throughout the United States, Europe and South America.

Otis Day & The Knights, Saturday at 9:00 PM – Classic Rock & Roll Band

Get ready to “Shout!” with Otis Day & the Knights made famous by one of the top 50 grossing movies, Animal House from National Lampoon, starring John Belushi. Living up to their claim as “the number one party band in America” were an immediate hit performing more than 260 sold-out concerts the first year. Led by effervescent vocalist/actor DeWayne Jessie – Otis! My Man!, the group continued to inspire dancing and good times with their treatment of late-’50s and early-’60s R&B and rock hits such as

“Shama Lama Ding Dong”.

Madison, Wisconsin-born Jessie began performing early. As a teen, he wore a mouse suit to entertain diners at a local Chuck E. Cheese restaurant. Making his film debut in Jeff Bridges’ 1970 flick Halls of Anger, he went on to appear in Car Wash, Thank God It’s Friday, and Where the Buffalo Roam. He received an Image Award as a “supporting character” in The Bingo Long Traveling All Stars and Motor Kings.

Jessie based his life-changing portrayal of the fictitious Otis Day on his brother, Obie “Young” Jessie, who played in the Flairs. When Animal House proved to be a major commercial success, producers Ron Kurtz and Don Polodor encouraged the band to tour primarily as a live band, Otis Day & the Knights. A concert video, Otis! My Man!, had been released in 1986. They recorded an album — Shout, produced by George Clinton and released in 1989. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Animal House, Otis Day & the Knights embarked on a 70-city tour and continue to perform throughout the country.
