Joe Lamp’l’s (aka joe gardener®) infatuation with gardening and nature began as a child. After a run-in with his parents’ favorite shrub, he panicked and jammed the broken branch into the ground. A few weeks later, it had taken root. Joe was not only relieved; he was also hooked on horticulture.

As one of the country’s most recognized and trusted personalities in gardening and sustainability, that passion for living a greener life is evident to a nationwide audience who watches Joe in his current role as Executive Producer and Host of the award-winning PBS series, Growing a Greener World® and previously as host of Fresh from the Garden on DIY Network and GardenSMART. Joe also shares his know-how on NBC’s TODAY SHOW, ABC’s Good Morning America, The Weather Channel and through his popular books, podcast series, nationally syndicated newspaper column and more.

In 2011, The American Horticultural Society selected Joe as the recipient of the Society’s B.Y. Morrison Communication Award, which recognizes effective and inspirational communication—through print, radio, television, and online media. In 2012 and 2014, the Garden Writers Association named Joe as Best On-Air Talent for Television.

Off-camera, Joe is founder & CEO of The joe gardener® Company, devoted to environmentally responsible gardening and sustainable outdoor living. Joe is deeply committed to “growing a greener world” through his online radio show by the same name, books including, The Green Gardener’s Guide, nationally syndicated newspaper column and more. When not talking or writing about gardening, Joe can likely be found gardening and spending time with his family on their Atlanta, GA farm.

Meet Celebrity Designer & Remodeler

Move the Bus … Paul is Coming to Omaha!

Meet the featured Designer on all 9 seasons of ABC Television’s two-time Emmy Winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Paul has renovated Hollywood homes of stars including Glenn Close and George Hamilton. He has recently launched a new show Building Wild on the National Geographic Channel.

Think of a man raised by Italian parents who loves building the kitchen table as much as what goes on it, and you have a true sense of the essence of Paul DiMeo. Best known as the carpenter with attitude on ABC Television’s two-time Emmy winning Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, DiMeo was a featured designer on all 9 seasons of the hit show.

DiMeo is originally from Media, Pennsylvania, and is the youngest of five children. He began his love affair with home construction at age 5, after his family’s home burned to the ground. “My father and I embarked upon our own extreme makeover to reconstruct the family home,” he explains.

Major League Baseball asked Paul in March of 2011 to be the lead designer and builder of the MLB Fan Cave in New York City. The Fan Cave is the first-of-its-kind immersive fan experience.

After attending Point Park College in Pittsburgh, this Theatre Arts major began perfecting his skill of set building for the Pittsburgh Playhouse, while also developing his other big love: acting. A move to New York saw him designing for the Dance Theater of Harlem, the Yiddish Theater, Carnegie Hall and numerous off-Broadway and Broadway venues. He also pioneered the “Loft Living” project, working on the renovation of lofts and brownstones, and as master carpenter, renovated the Landmark Brownstone of Aaron Burr.

After 17 years in New York, DiMeo decided to move to Los Angeles, where he renovated the homes and businesses of Hollywood’s movers and shakers. His client list includes the Beverly Hills Ralph Lauren Polo store, the William Morris Agency, Glenn Close, Joan and Marty Ransholff, Arnold Rifkin, David Niven Jr., Ann Archer, Marjorie Lord, Angelo DeSapio and — his most memorable client — George Hamilton.

He just launched the Building Wild show designing dream wilderness getaways on the National Geographic Channel. It’s the most rugged construction show ever built. Each week, Paulie and Tuffy – the Cabin Kings – meet a new client with a wild piece of property and a dream of building the perfect wilderness getaway. The Cabin Kings have just one week to conquer the elements and unveil this new backwoods paradise

For DiMeo, life is all about finding humor in the little things you do, while keeping a smile and making a joke here and there…something he takes very seriously.
